In addition to thinking the whole thing up, I created dozens of workshops and fun activities involving the best fan filmmakers in the country, such as Ryan Wieber and Michael Scott of "Ryan Versus Dorkman" (Wieber later joined LucasArts) and Chris Strompolos, whose teenage "Raiders of the Lost Ark" tribute was covered in "Vanity Fair". FANZILLACON screened over fifty of the nation's best-of-breed fan films in every genre during the summer of 2004 before YouTube broke the fan film phenomenon to the American public. We hosted celebrity guest Richard Hatch of past and present "Battlestar Galactica" fame. Creative Director and Founder of the nation's first fan film festival and convention, FANZILLACON got me interviewed on National Public Radio, newspapers and regional television programs. Artist Scott Hamilton designed the candy bar labels and other merchandise to supplement revenue, and co-ZillaGuy Robert Newton had the bright idea of producing candy bars to raise money. I'm proud to say that I ran into Chris Strompolis at a West Coast RAIDERS ADAPTATION screening. He saved a box for posterity, so cool they were.
